Was THIS photo foreshadowing?

Here's me in a Cobalt Sport Coupe at the St. Louis Auto Show in February:

I'm definitely getting my corset tomorrow
I've been asked to work in the pub tonight so I'll have some more money for tomorrow night
It's already 13.30 and it's officially Friday afternoon

I am such a happy bunny

Egads, thank goodness you got the blue one. New cars are awesome!!

Rain held off this morning, so I got a great run in outside for the first time in the am since last fall. 60 degress, a bit humid, and a touch of a breeze. Didn't see another soul though, which was very unusual. The birds were so loud. I pretended they were cheering me on. By the time I was out of the shower, it was raining.

Now, just 2.5 hours till Chipotle.

Went and saw the new Harold and Kumar movie yesterday. I'm not into gross humor and don't smoke pot, so the fact that I find these movies funny is funny in and of itself.

Anyway, the movie is hilariously wrong. The main government agent is the single biggest idiotic cracker you'll ever see. The racist shit he puts out there is just so mindnumbingly wrong that you can't help but laugh and think "Yeah, I know an idiot like that!"

And there is a famous person impersonator in the movie that made tears pour out of my squinty laughing eyes.

I got re-elected! *smiles*

Bad day overall for the party nationwide and locally, lot of council seats changed hands, lot of councils changed their lead party. Locally, we lost one seat (poor guy had been a councillor for 22 years) to the Lib Dems and lost one to the BNP.

I was fighting the BNP as my main opposition (though the conservatives made a better than usual showing) but we held them off *smiles* and I increased my majority from 77 votes ahead of the BNP (dangerously close) to about 250 votes Out of 18 contested seats in our borough, only mine and one other saw Labour increase our vote.

Congrats Dana.
The only good news (politically speaking) I have heard today.

We voted for Ken in this borough, but it wasn't enough.

Happy thoughts, happy thoughts, happy thoughts...
Okay - I'm home from work, I have a beer, my cats are on the bed with me and I'm going to have a lovely long lie-in tomorrow in preparation for clubbing tomorrow night.

Sigh. Just wish I had Uncle Ken's re-election to celebrate.

The rhythm of soles on pavement, lungs filled with the sweet smell of blooming crabapple trees, following the scent back to my childhood backyard.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel on my overdue assignments! I have two research projects (a 2000 word and a 3000 word) for which I got an extension until friday....up until yesterday I had written approx. half of one and hadn't even started the research for the second. I have worked like a mad thing all yesterday and all today and now have one almost finished and the other half way complete. Thank god for online primary source collections, they made the research a damn sight easier!

Once these are both submitted, I have two weeks to revise for my only exam and then I am free from academia for a whole summer! Yey!
