Whut he said.

I enjoy looking at your pix. I'm visiting the parks vicariously through you.

Thanx.

Vicariously - is that the word?

I'm beginning to notice having trouble finding words.

@Bruce - Thanks!

@Grav - That's the right word. Thanks! There's about 8 more to come after this post I'm a little behind

These are from Dismal Swamp in the beginning of September. It was kind of boring. The most exciting thing was seeing a bunch of deer just beyond the trees. Stupid camera kept focusing on the wrong place. I don't know why I didn't use the manual. I was just trying to get some photos, I think. No time to switch. I got one decent one of the baby below.

Situations like your fawn pic infuriate me when using auto focus. It never picks the right spot. Never.

@Grav - that's why I upgraded in the first place! Infuriating! Still, at least I go to experience it at all

The following are some pictures from Mount Jefferson. Easy hike. The overlooks were driven to and I couldn't find the damn rock on the Luther Rock trail

These first three are from the same overlook on the road to the trailhead. Such a GORGEOUS day. Again, beginning of October

Just another danger of death sign on my hike. I know it's all out of focus, but I still liked it. I don't know why.

@Bruce - I try not to think about it......or touch it.

Next up is New River State Park. I went here after the pics above, so still a gorgeous day. Still beginning of September

Green, green everywhere

I love the shadows in this one

The forest was a lot darker in real life. It was like going from day to evening. Apparently, my camera is too good at finding light

One of the things I love about walking through a forest like this is having a commentary going in my head. Like the narration of a fantasy novel. Like I'm on a big adventure and just entered into the dangerous woods that everyone is scared of because they're haunted. That's normal, right? RIGHT?!?!

The next set is from Raven Rock State Park. The park I went to when I got left behind for the second time. I went back by myself and had a grand time. There's a lot of good pics, so stand by for 5 posts of pictures. Mostly mushrooms.
