Codec Search

I recorded some stuff using an ATI USB wonder a while back. They're .avi's, but I don't have the video codec installed, and the drivers for the USB wonder don't work on Windows 7. Is there a good way to discover what codec is needed, and how to get it?

Open the avi in VLC player, go to Tools, select Codec Information.
