Isn't it nice that we live in a place/time where we can say things like this without fear?

Would you have expected anything else from that viewpoint?
Shall I go google some idiotic post from the other side and quote it here for balance?
His gender preference is of no interest to me. Nor should it be to you.
Using it to make some point is pretty shitty of you.

Nice surprise - the compostable bags that come with the new food caddy system smell like burnt toffee. I wouldn't like my whole life to smell like burnt toffee, but as it's a bag for food waste which will attract flies during the hot weather it's not a bad start.

A liberal opinion piece was on a progressive blog.

OK.

Where do we go from there? What conclusions are your rhetorical questions trying to point to? Liberal blogs are likely places for liberal editorials to be made? Liberal editorials are likely to be made on liberal blogs? It seemed like you were hinting at something less trivial than that, but I can't quite figure out what it could be.

That would be a perversion of balance. Not everything needs equal time. Homophobia and racism don't deserve equal time. They may well represent opposite points of view and may well have people who espouse them, but it is not desirable to validate such ideas by bestowing the mantle of "equality" on them.
