Think about it, all these men, from colleagues you barely know to blood kin, a group who are so diverse they probably couldn't agree on any point, and they are ALL rubbing you the wrong way?

Are you sure you don't really want a woman with a deep voice and whiskers, who is more likely to this as you do?

I withdrew $200 from a MAC machine on Friday.... but the money never came out. It made lots of loading and sorting noises, printed the receipt twice.... and then went into 'temporarily out of service' mode.

No identifying numbers or phone # to call for problems... Fortunately, it's a PNC machine at my nearby Wawa. I called my bank to dispute it this morning. They will investigate.... but it may take 10 days for me to get my money back.

ATM errors take a monumental amount of time to resolve on this side of the Atlantic as well. The financial pages of the weekend press often relate the slow and confusing path to resolution.
On the other hand, I used a local ATM a while back and had to wait for the chap in front of me to complete his transaction. He retrieved his card, the cash appeared and he took the advice slip.
What he didn't do was take the money. I had to call him back. I'm not the quickest of thinkers, but I worked out that it was probably best to call him back rather than take the money to him.*
I didn't know how much was there and didn't want to leave myself open to accusations of theft. He could have withdrawn £50 but only £40 might have been dispensed.
I often wonder what would have happened if there had been no-one behind him.

A minute or so and then the machine would draw it back in. I've had that happen to me. Then you have to go to the bank and tell them what has happened - I don't think the machine credits it back to your account unless you do that.

If you ever need cash, and can't find one of your ATMs (y'know, one that doesn't charge you an extra fee), go to a Minit Mart (a genuine Minit Mart brand Minit Mart). All Minit Marts have fee-free ATMs.

I'm told the WAWA stores around here have free ATMs.
I've been incredibly lucky with ATMs and use them almost weekly. The new ones are a little unnerving as you feed in a check to deposit without typing in the amount. The machine reads the check, even checks that look like they were written by a doctor and folded up in my wallet for a week. Then it tells you what it read and asks for confirmation. If you disagree it pouts, spits the check out, and dismisses you like a 3rd grade teacher.

The Wawas DO have free ATM. Unless you're with TD bank. because TD bank charges you if you use a non TD bank machine. Fuckery.

These fees are worse than Pawn shops, I tells ya!

But she's just a bitch, the cops would tell her to calm down and escort her out to the parking lot. If she refused or directed her tirade at them, cuff her and sit in the back of the cruiser for awhile. A disorderly conduct citation and if she was still not contrite, maybe spend the night in jail.

If Grav did that he'd be a criminal, a terrorist. They'd at least pepper spray or Taser him before a night in jail. And if he looked cross-eyed at them, they'd get some time and a half doing the paperwork for shooting him.
