Here's waay too much information on Why Elf Hasn't Posted Pictures:

I need tech support.

Seriously.

There are some pictures of me on my computer at home. They do exist.

This computer that they are on is the one that has the software for downloading from my camera. This computer is not online. On this computer, there is a zip drive and a CDRom drive.

No other computer that I have access to has a zip drive. None.

Sooo. I try to install the download software for my camera on the hubby's computer, which has a writeable cd drive thingy, a 3.5" floppy drive, etc. It's not online either, but I figure I can download from the camera to his computer, save to disk, bring said disk in to work and upload. Easy, right?

No good. Software is not compatible with the OS he's running (Windows 2000NT, I think).

So I have him take the 3.5" floppy drive off his computer, and stick it in mine. Figure I'll get them off my computer that way, bring them to work and upload. Easy, Right?

Ohh, no. There's no place to put it. The guy put my computer together went all weird and the way it's set up, another disk thing just simply won't fit.

So the Hubby will pick up a longer cable for the floppy drive and figure out some way to make it work.

Ohhhh, maybe he can just hook it up long enough to save the pics to the disk? There's no reason the tower has to be all closed up, is there?

Elf - Does your camera connect via usb? If so, try this.

Some digital cameras are recognized by the OS in 2000 and XP as USB external hard drives.
  • Don't bother to install the software.
  • Connect the camera to your husband's pc.
  • Turn the camera on.
  • Open up a Windows Explorer window (Windows key + E or double click on My Computer).
  • Look at the list of hard drives. Does it show an additional hard drive?
  • If so just copy the files from the new hard drive (actually your camera) to the hard drive of your husband's pc.
  • Open them in your favorite picture viewing software - irfanview is free and well thought of.
  • Resize it to a convenient viewing size. (Check that it is < 100k) If it is jpg and a reasonable size it should be.
  • Upload it to cellar (Look below the submit reply button. You should see a Manage Attachments button.)

well, another chapter in the days of our cellar has concluded folks. Jim has seen Garnet, and she doesn't look dikey... soon they will be the bestest of friends.

Yes, I believe this is the nicest thing LJ has ever said to me. He certainly knows how to flatter a girl--I'm blushing!

Yeah, being a vegan, and living in the "south", if you're not taller than you are wide OR have most of your visible teeth, then your thoughts, ideas and opinions become moot.

I still can't find Mr. Bruces photos--I need some guidance here, people. I must find out if all the rumors of pure unadulterated sexiness are true.

And Brianna, if they are true--he's MINE!

Garnet, I don't want to fight. Let's let Bruce decide.
