Skunks are exotic....

I'm pretty sure when I was still in the UK, skunks to me were categorized alongside Bigfoot, Nessie and the Push-Me-Pull-You.

Now as a Michigan resident, I understand that the distinctive smell (which cannot be imagined prior to your first encounter, trust me) means watch for and swerve to avoid black-and-white roadkill ahead

sometimes I need a reminder of how exotic they used to seem.....;

Push me pull you. That is hilarious. I had a friend in HS who told me about a petting zoo type thing coming to her elementary school. She said "There were llamas...not the two headed kind." She was serious.

Skunks are usually roadkill around here. Smelly roadkill.

wtf language is that man speaking? lol

used to be....I hated and reviled the smell of skunk. then, when i was about....15 or 16 i started smoking pot. sporadically at first, but then from years 18-28, i pretty much smoked daily if i had it.

there is a certain kind of pot called skunk weed. it smells a bit like a skunk. it's verry nice. although i no longer smoke the weed, i do still enjoy the smell of skunk.

Skunks to me will always exist hopping down a staircase ala Pepe le Pew (sp?). They are entirely exotic unknown creatures.

you . . . though . . . skunks were mythical? No skunks in UK?

wow, that's . . . interesting. yeah!

I didn't realize skunks were New World creatures. WikiP says there are two species that live in Indonesia and the Phillipines, but the rest are north/south america.

Oh no, no! This is just propaganda from people who don't like skunks. At any given time, only 1.7% of the skunk population has rabies. You big alarmist.

The farther back I have to dig to be able to make fun of you, the better you're doing.

We used to have skunks coming through our yard all the time. From a distance, I can't tell the difference between the smell of a skunk and the smell of coffee.
