May 22, 2008: Cruel Nature?

Is nature cruel?
I don't think so, it is what it is, and life goes on....

for seagulls and ducks...

for hawks and rodents...

and even for the people in China.

I like the expression on the mouse's face. "You can't catch me, Mr. Hawk! I'm down here on the ground and you're way, way, way up there in the sk...huh??"

That first picture makes me think of this:

Quote:
...If I could fly, I’d pick you up
I’d take you into the night
And show you a love, oh
If I could fly, I’d pick you up
I’d take you into the night
And show you a love
Like you’ve never seen, ever seen...

The last picture reminds me of the tenacity of the human spirt and the tenacity of fragile flowers and plants that will always find their way through the concrete to find the sun.

No nature isn't cruel, but I will guarantee, the look on that mouse's face will stick with me for a loooong time.

Nature's indifference bothers the hell out of me. That gives me the willies.

My pet scorpion was more vicious than that. It liked killing, I could tell....I knew it wanted to eat my head too. That's all it thought:attack, sting, eat head, then rest of body until full. It lived honestly, but it was also completely base at all times.

xo can always come up with a photo that sticks to me like glue, and I will end up thinking about it for about a year and the visual pops in my head at work all the time or something.

Awsome shots. The first two are natural. The last one is not really nature. The power of the earth caused the quake. Many of the deaths were due to the power of humans and the subsequent failures of living in dangerous areas.

Am I the only one who finds the first picture the saddest by far? Jeez, you can tell where my hormone levels are these days...
