Just finished extracting and straining about 50 lbs of honey
Have to let it settle for a couple of days before bottling. Sore arms from cranking the extractor.

That's really cool! Is that about 50 pints? Is honey around the same weight as water?

A pint of water weighs a pound. ("A pint's a pound, the world around") - the same jar of honey weights about 1.5 pounds. Got to start washing jars and lids and making more labels.

I have 3 hives, the honey is from 18 frames of one hive. A really good hive under prefect conditions can make 100 lbs of honey. I'm hoping to increase to about 10 hives.

Sorry Limey, I forgot about the exchange rate ...

Wow, 18 frames, your bees must have a good food supply. Are they near orchards or farm crops, can't be all wildflowers... can it?

I have an interview tomorrow with the "enemy"...being from KC, Elspode will know which college I speak of (as I am a Mizzou guy).

It's a part-time gig, but it's in a cool college town at a good university...could be a good stepping stone.

Sounds like a plan... maybe I should start looking at Uni work.

Mostly wildflowers and native plants. Bees range up to 2 miles from the hive, so it's whatever they can find.
