8/19: Deer on ice

In the middle of summer (in the N. hemisphere), what do you need but a reminder of what will be 6 months from now? This poor mule deer was chased onto the ice by a pack of coyotes. She was out there for eight hours until she was finally rescued by a wildlife official.

If not for the deer crap strewn about in every direction, and the context of the image, I think it would be pretty cute.... in a sort of disney/bambi adorable fawn sort of way......

.. ....... or something.

If you haven't seen it already... this ancient spinnin' and pooin' thread is hereby resurrected to post the video of the deer rescue by helicopter that happened a few days ago.

The latest sport for pilots: deer blowing!

Actually, that looks like fun. Could they blow me next?
