Well, my plan was to listen to some very cool environments CDs (I use one called 'Timberwolf in the Tall Pines' for meditation, decided I needed some ocean noises and a couple of thunderstorms, so I ordered them from amazon.)

Notice, how I said it "was" my plan?

The box arrived yesterday, and all of the CDs inside were crushed, jewel box bits all over the place. I used the automated returns thingy and got an RMA number and had them boxed up and mailed within an hour of receiving them. This morning I received an email from some outsourced ninny named "Bindu" telling me they were sorry about the jewel cases and they'd send me some and I could just move the inserts and CDs into them.

Shot back a cranky email indicating I had already mailed everything back and that the condition of the contents was such that I didn't even bother to break the shrinkwrap on the CDs.

Bindu has since apologized for his hastiness, and replacement CDs are on their way.

So, consequently, I'm listening to the air conditioning hum.

Tia Fuller - Healing Space

Biography by Matt Collar
Saxophonist Tia Fuller is an expressive, forward-thinking musician with a bent toward post-bop and soulful, expansive jazz. Interested in music from a young age, Fuller's piano and flute studies began around age three and culminated in her earning a bachelor's degree in music from Spelman College in the '90s. Later, Fuller sought her masters degree in jazz pedagogy from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Subsequently, she found performance opportunities with a bevy of name artists and ensembles, such as Charles Fambrough, Mickey Roker, Ralph Peterson, T.S. Monk, Rufus Reid, and others — including the Gerald Wilson Orchestra and the Duke Ellington Orchestra. She released her debut album, Healing Space, on Mack Avenue in 2007.

The White Stripes--Icky Thump

What a great CD...Jack White tries to channel Led Zeppelin in full, and does surprisingly well.

Anyone remember Rosie Vela? Came across her 'Magic Smile' single in iTunes yesterday - have her 80's album on vinyl in the attic somewhere - was a great set of numbers on it, I recall. Think I'll dig it out again....
