Running the 10K

My friend invited me to run the 10K with her in September, so I've signed up for it. I've been training from the beginning of June. At first, I couldn't even make a lap around the track(1/4 mile). Since last week, I've managed to jog 3 miles non-stop. I'm happy and proud of myself. I am going to continue with the 3 miles for a week and increase gradually then. Being able to jog for 3 miles makes me less nervous about the whole thing, but I still have some ways to go before I can relax about the 10K. Anyways, I thought I would start tracking my progress from this point.

Hehe....I get 5K in everytime. I have 51 days left until d-day to increase my endurance. Ideally, I would like to be able to jog 5 miles non-stop. Yeah, that's not going to happen. :-P

I don't doubt that I can jog 5 miles non-stop. I just don't think I can do it in 51 days. But it's okay. I'll do my best.

You'll be amazeballs because you always are.
If you run for charity, do let the good folks here know. My bro got multiple donations from the Cellar for his 100m bike ride, and he doesn't look anywhere near as cute a you in lycra!

Lycra would be too hot.

So I only managed to jog 2 miles today before stopping. Not sure if it's because I may be jogging faster than usual or I have some kind of acid reflux going that was making me tired. I just continued the next 2 miles with jog and walk alternation. After I came home, I ate a big slice of humble pie (I think I got too cocky about able to jog 3 miles), drank lots of water, and tonight I will have to look over my strategy to achieve the 4 mile jog. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better.

33C!
I think you did well running for two miles at that temperature personally.
And jog and walk is not a failure, it all counts.

Hello! Hello!

It has been really hot, but I jog at 7AM, so the temperature is bearable. Well, at least for me. I found a training program to run a 10K but I printed it out and not save on the computer. I can't find it again, otherwise I would put it here for y'all to follow my progress. Well, maybe it's better this way, so I can cheat, hihi. I'm going to attempt a 4 mile jog tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Sundae: You always cheer me on. I really appreciate it. I appreciate everyone else who replied too.

4 miles in 54 mins. Slow paced but made it. I gave myself a pat in the back. I've been doing that alot lately. I've realized that not only that YOU love yourself the most, but you, yourself are the biggest cheerleader. If you going to wait for someone to motivate you, you might as well give up. Everyone else has too many damn problems of their own.

Let's see if I can hit 5 miles next week. (Yes, I love optimism. )
