Turtle

I found this turtle in the parking lot when I was leaving work today so naturally, not wanting it to get run over, I took it home and took some pictures of it before releasing it near a swampy area in the woods. I have no idea what kind it is, I did a quick Google search but couldn't find anything that looked close. One of those 'so ugly he's cute' type critters.

I could be abstatutly wrong but dude looks like a snapper fron the crusty shell and the hook nose , but Many baby turtles have hooks on their beaks to break out of their shells .

I believe you may be right Zip, did I mention that I did a 'quick' search? Now that I'm looking again I've found a picture of a baby snapper that does look similar to this one. In my defence, it's been a long time since my youthful frog and turtle hunting days.
