Sign of a failed economy?

So if we're being surrounded by Dollar Generals is it the end times economically?

Just the end times for your area... I thought Grifftopia was off in the wilderness, though? It's been a long time since I saw a "Dollar" store of any ilk, around here the new thing is a chain called "Five Below."

I'm thinking some local must have franchised. One is being built in Choconut, PA and another in Appalachian, NY That's only 15 min to one and 20 to the other.

Dollar General

The dollar chain is bucking the retail trend and expanding rapidly in the United States. It plans to open 900 new stores by the end of the year, remodel 1,000, and relocate 100.

when Amanda and I ride around the country on the motorcycle, we notice that in every small depressed looking town that has a name you will find:

A) Dollar Store/Dollar General

B) Autoparts (Napa, Advance, Oreilly etc.)

and often a CVS/Walgreens/Rite Aid and a Subway Hoagie shop

You won't find a hoagie shop in a small town. Well there is Subway.choke.gag.puke.

That's what I said. Subway. I added hoagie shop so people didn't think I meant underground trains.

Signs of a failed economy should be the prevalence of Walmart. An oligarch-owned purveyor of cheap wares that doesn't pay it's own employees enough to buy the stuff back without food stamps.

Yup I should have taken you to the American Hero in Loris, SC. If only they had better jalapenos for the Italian. The White House in Atlantic City used finely cut red cherry peppers and olive oil. That was the best. I wonder if they still in business.

That statement is erroneous.Back in 08 an article stated in the NY Times that WM associates were receiving foodies. Corporate raised hourly wages from 1¢ to 25¢. Employees with a few children could not live with a two dollar a week raise if it meant giving up $550 in food stamps. Walmart lost more than a few talented individuals.

They are. You don't want to take a Philly guy to a hoagie shop in your neck. Remember the place I took you? Croce's. Italian with sharp provolone. No place on earth you get that done better.

You should have taken me to a better BBQ joint.

Amanda doesn't want to move away anymore. Spoiled her with the splendor of convenient everything that is south jersey.

Friendly's Fish restaurant would have been good. I like spots, but I would have gotten you the whole flounder. Thats what my dad liked.

Women do get spoiled. When are you going to start looking at houses for sale? Might as well have a plan.

Coincidence.... A buddy at work just told me he went to White House on weds and had the cheese steak hoagie. Then went to the Casino and won enough to pay for gas tolls and lunch. The day cost him $7.

Nice.
