November 15, 2006: Giant clock of sweets

Neatorama finds this very massive 'cake clock' on this Chinese news site.

Cake clock. Do not say that 5 times fast.

Again we need to appeal to our resident translators for more detail on the Chinese page. Babelfish attempted but failed with an error!

I can't resist posting massive food items.

I'll bet it has a clock motor in it, unless 2:22 has some special meaning...

I had to think about that for a second. Then an inappropriate sound I can only class as a guffaw burst from me!

It's cool, but it really just looks like a pile of cupcakes and other baked goods on shelves. I want to see something worthy of one of the Food Network Challenge Shows ... a working clock built out of confectionary materials.

(Okay, I really only watch the Food Network Challenge to see the hopes of the contestants dashed to as many pieces as their sugar sculptures when the design concept turns out to be completely unfeasible because of weight vs. fragility.)

Well, now, obviously the gauntlet has been thrown down! American's need to rectify this wrong. If there's gonna be a giant cake clock, we should be the ones to make the biggest giant cake clock, because....because...we just do stuff like that.
