Thanks, I think it's my favorite, too.

There are fingerprints, if you look closely, but they don't photograph. If I keave skin, I scrape it off with an X-Acto.

The next layer was tricky; if I had to lift it back due to a misalignment, I would often have to reposition the thread underneath. Luckily, the sharp corners meant that the thread wouldn't pull up past an edge, so any repositioning was limited.

They're hollow, aren't they? Have you thought of filling them with stuff? Beads. Glitter. Tiny Unicorns. Other hexacombotetramongotesseracts? Oh wait, you already did that. So cool Happy Monkey, so, so cool.

There's one that I put a lot of effort into, where the gold thread criss-crosses between the points. The effect was nowhere near as interesting as I hoped.

I made one of these for each of my new nephews.

(It's a flickr video link that won't embed here.)

HM, very nice ... again. You have mastered the art form.

I took the liberty of continuing on thru some of your collection of pics,
and was struck by the correspondence between pics of cherry blossoms
and of your Tapecraft... they do seem to have an essential connection.

I recognized some of the DC pics as having been posted here before,
but did not remember the pics of tree roots. For some reason,
when I'm out fishing I tend to notice the unusual trees, limbs,
and especially exposed roots. Weird me, eh ?

I'm not sure there's so much of a correspondence of production as there is of posting to Flickr. Tapecraft and cherry blossoms are a major staple of my Flickr account, and sometimes getting around to posting one will also end up in me posting the other.

As for roots, it's not so wierd. There's even a Flickr group just for tree feet.

2013 Christmas ornaments. Cubes for my mom, and spiky balls for my siblings.

How do they hold up over time?

Yeah, well done!

That top one reminds me of tic tac toe. But a 3D version.

Surprisingly well. The very first ones I made were little cubes that I put in my window, so they faded, and the buckyball is very delicate, but the rest of them show no signs of age.

A heavy-duty one as a gift for a soon-to-be one-year-old nephew.
