May 30th, 2020: Ghost Island

Belnahua, Scotland. One of the Slate Islands. A row of abandoned workers' cottages greets you, left behind after the quarrying stopped and WWI started. Food and even water had to be shipped in, and once the menfolk left for war, life there became untenable for the remaining inhabitants, who left too.

This image is from the Mountain and Sea Scotland blog, the other info gleaned from The Scotsman, an article brought to my attention by our very own Slate Island Dwellar

We've got 'em on our doorstep. And in the house.
