Halloween Makeup Advice

I'm "The Joker" from Batman for my office departmental theme. I'll have to have my face and all my visible skin all the way down my neck painted white. Will standard "greasepaint" rub off on my shirt collar after it dries (I assume I stick kleenex down my shirt collar while waiting for it to dry)? Should I put powder on top of it? How do I do this?

Also, any suggestions as to how I can avoid shaving my moustache to paint on the Joker smile? My 'stach kind of curls down over the edges. I'd hate to go all Hitler 'stache like Cesar Romero.

How hot is your office setting? And why are you wearing a shirt that you care about? You won't be wearing a costume? yes, it will rub off. Shout will probably help get it out. or Oxyclean. But they probably cost more than a shirt at Goodwill....

I would buy a while polo neck from goodwill/whatever (I think you merkins might call them turtle necks) and wear it under my good shirt. i'd cut the collar off about an inch above my real shirt and bring the make-up down just underneath it.

you could get a Joker smile "Kazoo"/noisemaker instead of using make-up. that would cover your mustache

It isn't hot, and I have a cold server room I could duck in to cool off, if needed.

I'm not wearing a shirt I care about, I'm wearing a green shirt I bought at the thrift store, along with the purple suit. The point is, I don't want #1 white schmutz visible on my shirt (the joker must look classy) or #2 my makeup to be screwed up anywhere.

Good idea about the turtle neck.

I would just paint your face only, maybe use a scarf. Use wax to make your stash part of the red lip or a deformity.

There's probably some tips on you tube. It might give you some ideas.

I've heard good things about white clown makeup. They definitely sweat.

Part of the charm of the Joker is that his makeup cracks and runs as time wears on and the climax builds.

From memory, proper clown make-up is expensive.
At least more than is worth spending for one day.
Ordinary face paint sticks will be fine - the stuff you put on kids. Like any make up, wearing it all day (especially eating) means it will need the occasional touch-up.

We will need photos of course.

depends on your Joker, in some version his skin is bleached in chemical incident. In the most recent movie it was make up.

Quick update: pics to follow soon. Sorry for the delay.

I'll grab a shot of me on the front page of the paper, where it states that I "brought the house down with [my] authentic Joker laugh" ...

btw: went with Cesar Romero hair/makeup and Heath Ledger outfit.
