Not All Teens are Doin' It

WaPo says

The sex life of the American teenager is apparently far less busy than it was in generations past.

Less than half of teens older than 14 said they’ve had intercourse, a sharp drop from rates in the '80s, a new CDC study found. The majority of those who do choose to become sexually active are using some form of protection. And, in the last decade, the popularity of the so-called "morning-after pill" among girls has more than doubled.
Teen births, meanwhile, have plummeted about 57 percent over the last 30 years.

Researchers surveyed roughly 2,000 boys and girls, 15 to 19. (They also interviewed about 1,770 young adults, 20 to 24, about their high school encounters.)

I'm always skeptical about those polls being truthful, and especially about sexual experience. If they do one about teenage boys masturbating and come up with less than 100%, I'll be sure they are wrong.

The thing about being sexually active as a teen is, you gotta have a place and a time to do it. Helicopter parenting means there is almost no unsupervised time for teens anymore. I have no doubt they want to do it as much as they always did, but it's hard when you're signed up for three extracurriculars and your mom can track your cellphone with a GPS program.

An increase in birth control usage is always a Good Thing, though.

Or they are just diverging into a wider grey area to explore. Sexting, nude selfies, cybering, bi-directional-control sex toys can all come before first base.
