*raises hand* umm, please explain for the hard of thinking what does 'cotton' mean in this context? Is it to do with understanding (which is a similar usage to ours 'cotton on' meaning to get the point) or is it do with putting up or having to do with...?

I'm impressed- it took only ten minutes to bait and trap an english person with this one....Score!

I bay-ut the english don' cotton to thee-us.

As for me:

Today I don' cotton to the hitch in mah git' along.

Translation I: I feel sick today and it makes me grouchy.
or
Translation II: I hurt my foot or leg and have to limp around. This makes me grouchy.
