This is how my dad taught me to drive.

"Everyone else on the road is a complete idiot. Look at that guy waiting to turn there. Think of the most idiotic thing he could possibly do, and assume he's going to do it."

Every time we sat at a red light, he made me constantly watch in my rear view mirror for the next person approaching behind me, so I could suddenly gas it and pull myself off to the side if it looked like they weren't going to stop behind me in time. "Just glance at the light every few seconds. You don't need to watch it. The light isn't going to rear-end you. That idiot behind you is." Dude is completely paranoid.

I think you'll find most of the Water torture is made in the phillipines these days, like cheap clothing.

Clod, that is the perfect description of defensive driving, and how I think on the road.

I hate when the Water Torture Dripper label reads "made in the Phillipines."

White knuckled all the way in. Rainy and wet, plus dark thanks to the freaking time change. People cruising by in their big old SUVs, nonchalant and barely paying attention, a sleepy look on their face...slowly drifting, drifting. Oh look, a person on a cell phone, drifting, drifting...GET OUT OF MY LANE I'VE NOWHERE TO GO BUT THE RETAINING WALL.

Air horns. Fitted for $50 or less, sound like a goddamn truck. Scare em.

Scare 'em into a swerve and a wreck...seems counter-productive to my needs.

Thanks monsty.

You know...it's really gotten to me though. The reason why is each time the other person, whose fault it clearly was, tried to skate out of it. I mean, who do they think they are? Though I won't classify either incident as an 'accident' on their part (because running a red light and running blindly out of a parking space is idiocy, not accidental) I would say that things happen and if there were any decent non-lying mudderpluckers left on earth I wouldn't be so damn disgusted and (oh, dare I say it? Victimized. Yeah.) I'm a victim of a couple a-holes who are nothing but two-bit criminals. I think I'd almost rather be mugged or shot. Then I'd at least be allowed to get freaking angry. Then attorneys would call back and insurances would pay and do what they're supposed to do. What I PAY them to do.

I'm not dealing with this well, at all. Because it's bullshit.

IM needs a Dwellar-dome of protection for a few days of non-interference from these people.

I would love that.

In Xanadu did Undertoad
A stately Dwellar-dome decree
Where alf, the sacred alien ran
Through caverns measureless to man
Down to a sunless sea.

Sunless sea? Are you visiting Limey, then?
