Ur mad vocabularian skilz

http://www.merriam-webster.com/quiz/index.htm

Ten question vocabulary quiz with points awarded for difficulty and speed.

I average about 3400, my high score was 3750. The leader board has scores of 4200 and up. Those must be speed points because even when I get all ten words right I don't hit 3800.

They show average scores by age group. The 60 and up set have the best average scores. At either end the scores dip.

I'd say my skilz are furious, but not enraged. Certainly more than mad.

3940.
Knew all the words but I just don't have a good reaction time.
8 seconds usually, 9 seconds rarely. And I had to click twice on one of them.

I don't play computer games because of this (games-games I mean) because I just can't react fast enough. I'm sure I could improve my score with time, but I don't have the commitment.

Funz tho, thx.

Mulct I did not know. Never heard of.
Gauche is French for left. As is sinister in Latin.
I consider myself a cunning linguist. UG would disagree but I'm used to that

(Oleaginous is often used to describe politicians and gameshow hosts)

I fared significantly more poorly on the other quizzes.
Some by simply being a furriner (True or False) and some by just not knowing what I was looking at (The Naming of the Parts or whatever it is called). By the time my brain had recognised the item I was almost out of time. I am not a visual person.

Crepsucular is one of my favorite words!

From Edward Gorey:

There was a young sportsman named Peel
Who went for a trip on his wheel;
He pedalled for days
Through crepuscular haze,
And returned feeling somewhat unreal.

Geeez, from some of the words you people got, I'm glad I only took the test once !

Crepsucular - my eyes would have seen that as corpuscular
Mulct - that would been mulch to me
