Broken V-day

You guys ever have one of those Valentines Days that scar you?

Post 'em here.

Since I started the topic, i'll start first.

I'm a writer and a romantic of sorts. Last V-day, I had a crush, and I decided to do something sweet. I bought a single rose, and I wrote a poem for it, explaining alot of the single rose in a sweet way, and I was going to place it in here locker as a suprise. When I get to her lucker, there's already a bouquet of flowers and a teddy bear in there.

The measure seemed to match my mood. Gloomy and hailing outside.

Maybe she'd have thought a single red rose and a specially written poem far more romantic than a store bought bouquet or a teddy straight from the mall ... you'll never know now, eh?

Did I say she never got the single rose and the poem? She got it alright.... Myabe my perspective of her was flawed..... Seems money holds a stronger feeling of "love" than something that actually took thought and feeling to do....

I agree with limey. She might have gone for the simple, sweet expression over the display. What did you do with the poem and rose?

Gave it to her straight up, face to face. It meant alot to her.... before she got to her locker. That same day she started going out with the other guy. I know perfect well where her heart was placed.

So she wasn't for you, Dunlavy. Better to find out sooner than later, believe me!

Rose&poem vs teddy&bunch. If you were fishing and they were bait, then the larger bait would be more successful, but she's not a fish. Both offerings were to inform her of your interest and also the choice of gift give her a little insight into where you're head is at.
In reality, she was probably already aware of the interest of at least teddy&bunch, if not both of you. Probably the night before she was gushing to her girlfriend, she hoped Teddy&bunch would make a move.
If rose&poem blindsided her, she was touched, but not enough to sway her from her from her intended prey. If she expected rose&poem, then she had already made up her mind, you were not the one she wanted to devour.

Use extreme caution making plans around surprises. There is a tendency to play the whole scenario through in your head to what, you feel or at least hope, is a logical conclusion. 99.9% of the time, it won't happen that way.

Or she was a money grubbing bitch and you lucked out.

PS- That scar? You ain't seen nothing yet.

Bruce, why do you use words like "prey" and "devour"? Are you afraid that women are going to eat you?

Not suprised.... Well, how was everyone's V-day? Mine went well, when being compared to the rest. No carnations, no candy.... just seemed like every other day. Except for everyone wearing red....
