Tom Green was rather funny at times, but in the end, he got old and boring to an audience of mostly teenagers.

MTV sucks balls, but it has nothing to do with the cancellation of Tom Green's show.

I think it is just that they are scumbags in general, and wholly unconcerned with anything not made out of silicone.

I thought his SNL appearance was great. If you don't get why it's funny when two grown men put on bird suits, squawk at each other, and touch tongues, well I guess some people just don't know how to laugh.

I liked some of his stuff - but found most of it annoying.

Did you like Andy Kaufman too?

Kaufman really played me. I loved some of his stuff so much, - one of my favorites is the Mighty Mouse and bongo bit from old SNL, and Taxi was its own thing, but the confrontational wrestling stuff, the real/contrived incidents, razed down that manic, self-destructive edge. That was hard to watch with out squirming a bit.

As for Green, I've never really seen him. I guess I'm out of the demographic.

It seems that his schtick for his show was how amazing it was that they gave someone like him a show. Do that long enough, and the execs may believe you.

That being said, I enjoyed his "Undercutters Pizza" bit.

He struck me as a guy struggling to find a niche in the comedy world whether he was funny or not. I did see him do a great Elvis once which was entertaining, but not funny.
I am always surprised when I hear people say how funny he was or christ, call him a genius.
And if its that difficult to understand someone's humor, is it really funny?

Well OK, now that I think about it, two adult men in bird suits is actually sort of limited in its comic appeal. But like Kaufman, and Jim Carrey, and Howie Mandel, those who like that sort of thing *really* like it.

(shrug) Me I like it all, but I can see how people might not.
