The thing about yellow jackets is they not only sting repeatedly, they *bite* while they sting. The bite will itch for days after the sting has gone away. You have to be careful not to scratch yourself raw.
I recommend a paste of green clay with a touch of tea tree oil.

I'm getting ready to go murder them now. It's rained lightly for a couple days, the sun's been up for only a few hours, it's not warm out yet. I'll clear the area of the debris then we'll see. I have four cans of poison and a couple new baits for the traps for those that evade my wrath. And I have two gallons of gas, FOR THE MOWER, jeeze you guys.

But if I have any left, I may well dispose of it dramatically.

My friend discovered some in his yard right before a 4thofJuly party and didn't want to bomb the place. He found a huge glass bowl, went out early in the morning just before it got light and capped their hole with it. Then he sealed all around the edge with dirt and put a rock on top.
It made for fascinating entertainment.
He said after a coupla3 days they dehydrate and die.

I'm surprised they didn't have a second entrance.

I've used the inverted bowl technique (only for yellowjackets, of course).to good effect.
They do often have auxiliary openings so you have to look carefully for them. Not carefully just in the close search sense, but in the caution sense: those little buggers are fierce and determined.
Working at night with heavy clothing, as complete overage as you can with gloves and eye protection is more than important.
The edge seal has to be maintained.
They will beat themselves to death for days before activity dies down.
Buried deep under the surface tunnels are brood chambers containing thousands of eggs and larva, unaffected by the turmoil up top.
They are immune to all but the most powerful shop vac and have to be dug out and killed separately.

I got stung by (I think) a regular bee, right on my wrist-- about an hour before I went to go play a three-hour gig on the drums. It didn't bother me that bad, but AFTER the gig, when I went to load up, I noticed it was painful to lift anything heavy, I guess because all the swelling in such a small area.

Then the SOB itched like hell for a couple more days.

Why use a bowl when you can use a bomb?

I really have no idea, but I am going to say stacking metal chairs, cropped in such a way as to leave the recognizable chair part missing.

Yeah, correct. Just trying to get this thread moving again.

I like this thread too, so I hope your efforts succeed.
Here is a mystery picture" that I bought at a magic and joke store when I was probably ten or eleven (1952 or so).
I looked at it every time I went there and couldn't figure it out. As with the 'magic' tricks and other goodies, you had to buy them before the owner would tell how they worked.
Damn, but that place was hard on my allowance.
I still have that postcard and it still stumps people.
Of course once you know what it is, you can't look at it without seeing it, so I can't say if it is going to be hard or easy here.
I found it online with my first Google try.

I think it's hard to find because to us white is nothing, it's the canvas, so we look for the answer in the dark parts.

Plus, it's all dirty, grainy, and overexposed.
