The tabley thingie is actually two levels, so there's a big regular end table area beneath, then the upper level where the lamp, clock radio, thermometer and phone live. Did I forget the phone?

The mic clips just ended up there in the process of the ongoing recording of my friend Mike Nichols' audiobook version of his "Witches Sabbats" tome. There's also a couple of mic stands, mics, a mixer, cords, cables and a laptop involved, but those are merely in the vicinity of my bed, and not on the nightstand.

The best way to learn how to use such things is trial and error. I'm free this weekend.

The tabley thing I have next to my bed is actually a small stool. My grandad made it for my nan in the 30s. It is made from pieces of crate with legs attached.

I've got a box that looks like a small suitcase, inside there are enough parts, save the cases, to build a computer and a half, and I keep my glasses, hair ties, and wallet in a smaller box on top of that. Nothing too juicy, cept one of the hard drives (a 30 gb, 2.5")in the box is full of porn and mp3s.
