But....but...I am reliably informed by the Mars marketing campaigns that they are in fact the lighter way to enjoy chocolate...

Somebody saw some and copied them without trying them, Maltesers do not actually taste of Malt, can't comment on whether they taste of Maltese.

From the wiki page they were origanally called Energy Balls, can't say whether they taste like them either.

Hahahah! Maltese.

Yeah, whoppers, or Malted Milk Balls, taste like malted milk. Malt. What tastes better? I have no idea! I'll eat the chocolate off the outside for the pleasure of melting the malty portion on my tongue.

Malteaserers taste like Horlicks.
They're about the only type of choc Mum can't stomach.
Aunty Alice used to bring a box over for her as a treat every time she came - she was never allowed to say she hated them...

Malteaser Celebrations are quite yummy.

I just went over and got a box of Whoppers. They sell them in movie theater size here.

Oh well. I didn't get any Halloweenie candy.

Sundays are good days for french toast. This Sunday I made some delicious french toast and my girlfriend (someday y'all'll meet her... maybe. her name is *NOT* Pam.) .. anyhow. She deliberated longer than usual over what topping she wanted on her french toast. Maple (flavored) syrup, powdered sugar, numerous kinds of jelly, honey, brown sugar, etc. Though I don't have any here (it's over at her place) one nice topping is .. hm. don't know what to call it. We got it at Trader Joe's and it comes in its own grinder. It contains hard bits of chocolate, rock candy, coffee beans, it's delicious.

anyhow. She settled on powdered sugar which is also my favorite. While she was deciding and I was enumerating some of her options, I noticed a big can of Carnation Malted Milk on the shelf. I took it down and sprinkled a spoonful of it on each slice of my french toast. WOW. It was delicious.
