Just watched Benedict Cumberbatch as Alan Turing in The Imitation Game. Goddamn he is good. Made me cry, obviously, because it's such an incredibly tragic story.

I can't deal with James Spader. There's something about him that gives me serious shudders.

that's the point, isn't it? I have no idea who he is/what he's done prior to this. it's a slight departure for me, but has grabbed my attention for when I'm waiting for other shit to happen/ chilling finishing my beer before bed

I don't clearly remember the movie Sex Lies and Videotape, but I remember that he was in it and his character completely gave me the heebs. He really creeped me out in a repulsive sort of way.

I should probably watch it again just to examine what sore spot he was poking in me, and see if there is something about me... actually, yeah No. It's Spader. He's creepy.

You people are speaking ill of one of the finest actors of our generation...!

His character's deep awkwardness in SL&V was supposed to creep you out, that's why it did. That was a brilliant portrayal of a broken person...

Spader is one of my favorite actors. It's a little odd, because I couldn't stand him before Boston Legal. I absolutely loved his character in Boston Legal. Blacklist is was pretty good, I haven't seen it in a couple seasons, though.

He plays awkward very well. Re: Stargate (the movie).

Precisely the example I was going to use, Grav--why did he skeeve me out in Stargate as well? That character is supposed to be adorkable, and the movie as a whole is great, but somehow he bugged me even back then.

He is not too bright either. He could have been on the Stargate series, but held out for too much money. By the way I have watched all the episodes 2-3 times.

Clod, you may not want to watch Secretary, with Spader and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Then again, ya might.

Here's the trailer. It's quirky.

It's delightful. I own two copies. A delightful display of the power of consent.

Interestingly, the video that plays after the trailer (thanks for the link, Gravdigr) is the whole movie!
