hesitant...

a little over a year ago i joined dating websites (shortly after separating from my ex-wife), i wasn't at all ready to do anything about them.
1. my first excuse was that i had no time - i was working and studying full time with no time to sleep, and i didn't do either as well as i should.
- i ended up focusing entirely on studies and giving up my work, giving up the sense of independence and my apt so i can actually accomplish my goals.
2. my second excuse was that i didn't update my location & financial situation, and that they where dating based on info which are no longer relevant.
- apparently i actually did update it and forgot about it completely sometime in the last year, and continued to get messages since.
3. my third excuse was that i didn't have a paid subscription and couldn't answer...
- last night i took out my credit card and fixed that. i was frozen in place for a few hours before saying "fuck it" and proceeding.

now, the most recent message i got was from a nice looking non religious girl in ako (which is IMO one of the most beautiful cities in the country)...

"hey, i'd love to get to know" (roughly translated)

and i am in a bit of an analysis-paralysis about how to proceed so that there's a conversation going. in which we actually get to know each other... her profile doesn't have anything that provides a starting point...

Funny - I just did the opposite of this. After being on a site for years with bad or no luck, I just deactivated my account.

I decided to say Fuck It and just go with the flow. I got other things in my life that I want to put attention to. Yea, I am lonely, but I am trying to work out again, possibly moving within a year, possibly not gonna have a job soon and I swear, I couldn't pay one of the guys I find attractive to message me back, no matter what I tried.

I hope it works out better for you! Give us an update

i find it odd - i've being responding back to women who PMed me... and so far (over the last week), no answers.

there's no automated PM system on the site, they seem to have checked my profile before PMing me... i'd assume once they already decided to make the first move playing hard to get is off the table...

you'd figure once a woman puts herself out there she'd be happy when someone she showed interest in responds, and yet.. so far nada.

well, i've gotten my first date from this shpill for next weekend, not a terribly exciting profile but we'll see how it goes in person.

thanks, i figured out though that its because i was PMing back girls who have PMed me over the last two months before i became active again, so technically speaking, from their perspectives i was the jackass who ignored them for weeks or months on end...
