Velvet Chicken Lo Mein. Again. Not that I am complaining, I actually really like the recipe. I need to find some more veggies to put in it, though. I just don't know what would work. I only use cabbage since I hate (HATE) mushrooms.

A 2-inch thick bacon-wrapped pork chop (yeah, that's pig-wrapped pig, wanna fight about it?), Spanish rice, and a breadstick w/iced tea.

It is tasty. I had some for dinner. I think the stuffing sucked up all the soup, though....

We're all getting cheesesteaks from Steve's 'the prince of steaks' tomorrow.

The very Italian guy that is running the operation swears that they are the best. Head and shoulders above the famous name places....

There must be slightly more meat than roll. 55-45. That looks about 20-80. Good luck

Yeah, I'm skeptical. I'll update after lunch today.

They were good. Not fantastic. A little different in that they don't chop the steak. Its 3 or 4 slices on a long roll, so the ratio is a tad low. I got a Cheese-steak hoagie, which means there's lettuce and tomato on it.... The lettuce was typical shredded iceberg and the tomatoes was transparently thin and flavorless. Oh well.

It wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't make a special trip to get one. The Plaza Pizza shop next door makes a pretty solid steak when I'm in the mood for it.

Also, that pic I posted was pretty accurate, so I didn't bother photographing mine.

It's always a pleasure to hit some hole in the wall you've never heard of and get a blue ribbon lunch. The "famous" places always disappoint me, maybe because my expectations are too high because they're famous.

There was a Vietnamese guy a block from my old office who owned a place called Lunch Express Deli. He made the best cheesesteak I've ever had.

This was an asian dude in DC. Two hours and a world away from Philly.

You get all wrapped up in what is "authentic" but the real test should be the food.

It was years ago, and I have no pictures to offer you. Place probably doesn't even exist anymore.

Unacceptable. IMO the steak must be chopped, and the cheese integrated. Although the tourist places don't do that.
