Nov 12, 2010: Nudibranch

About 2700 people are trying to find out what's in the ocean. Of course they keep finding things we didn't know were there, because it hadn't been accidentally dragged up in a fishing net, or got in the way when we were looking for the Titanic.

This is Euselenops Luniceps...

Is this the Rodney Dangerfield, of the Nudibranch family?

Quote:
It is rarely seen because it dwells partially buried in the sand during the day, with its rhinophores exposed (scent or taste receptors on top of the head). Euselenops luniceps has a very flat body with a large oral veil that it uses to sift through the sand in an effort to find food.
