Taking up the Slack -- cellar chat 3.0

I miss the old cellar chat. Not the interface, that was a bit of a kludge, but it was workable. It let us have a keyboard to keyboard conversation in real time. There was the same free thinking expression we have here in the cellar, but quickerer. I miss talking with youse guyz. Apparently I'm not the only one (insert quote here too cumbersome for phone).

So, I have setup a chat system for us to talk amongst ourselves once again -- Slack.

what'sthatyousay? Slack, (from their promotional materials) "Team communication for the 21st century." It's impossible for me to read that and not hear Duck Dodgers ' voice, but that's probably just me. It's a chat tool that I think is the perfect reincarnation of cellar chat. It's free, it's effective, it's private, it's expandable, it's cool, and it works. . In fact, I use it *at* work. So do a lot of other people, perhaps many of you (you know who you are).

Want to get started? I've setup the team "thecellar". I have sent invitations to a few people whose email addresses I already knew. I'd love to send invitations to anyone else who'd like to chat amongst ourselves. If you would, send me your email address (any email address that you can use to receive the invitation) in a PM and I'll return it in an invitation to the team "thecellar". "Joining" the team is really simple. The program runs in a browser, or you can download the app; it runs on phones and tablets, very versatile.

I've installed the desktop application, as I said, we use it for work. Additionally, I've setup a team for my family. I've invited my kids, my uncle, some nieces and nephews, etc. It's a great tool for immediate connection with them while I'm chained to my desk at work, *ahem*, working.

I look forward to seeing you there!
