The bottle was half empty anyway.....

I'm not sure, does this mean you are only one quarter the loser you think you are, or that you are in fact exactly the loser you think you are?

My self help books are appropriately blank.

Depends on what kind of 'help' you need. All of them are only going to tell you what you're usually refusing to admit to yourself.

But if it is general 'eh' and doldrums, try Keep Going: The Art of Perseverance by Joseph M. Marshall.

Gmail had a link this morning to a recipe for Spam-and-Lemon Crescent rolls. Can you imagine something so patently filthy, so soulless, so whoringly disgusting?

Can I say spam-loaf? Uuuuugh!!!

I believe these ingredients create the gateway to hell:

Foil dinner on the grill
1/4 cup brown sugar 8 new potatoes, sliced 1/4"
1/4 cup beer 2 cups carrots, sliced 1/4"
1/4 cup stone ground mustard 1 large onion, thinly sliced
1/2 tsp celery seed 12-oz can SPAM, cut into 12 slices

Sure Clodfobble, but Spam, all by itself, is really pretty disgusting too. What do you think, agird626? How do you feel about spam?

Not much. Just some first-time-poster appeared, apparently offering a "testimonial" about some self help program ... it MIGHT have been genuine ... but it looked a lot like advertising.
Only thing I recall was the author's name was Penix. Yeah, google penix if you really want to know. Damn I'm gonna go try that now, just to see what happens.

Ohhhhhhh, penix. I've always been so jealous of him. I suffer from penix envy.

Anyways, do you like self help books? think they are a load of shit?

Recommend any?

I dont mind CC's cds, because I can listen to them whilst I am in the car for my 60 minute commute.
...Sorry, I thought the thread was started by ducknuts asking for self-help book recommendations...
...so I posted about my experience with a self-help book...
...but after all of your classy remarks, I now understand how my recommendation was completely out of line?
I see that your new contributions to the thread have definitely heightened its value and sincerity.
Way to be.
