Doors

I just hung my very first door ever...and guess what??? It works!

Now all I have to do is get my hands on a plane and smooth out the old door frame which is about 20yrs old and definitely far from square. It's got a bit of a bow in it so the top and bottom of the frame are out about 3mm. Now all I have to do is figure out how to put the handle and lock into the door.

I'm very proud of myself. This is the latest new skill I've acquired during the course of a minor reno I'm doing under our house.

Congrats! A couple of points:

1) Aircraft of any description, save for perhaps blimps, move way too fast for you to make any sort of accurate modifications to what you've done, so a plane is right out.

2) For a moment after I'd read the thread title, I found myself hoping you'd resurrected Jim Morrison.

Well, when i said plane I meant the tool you use to sliver off timber from places like door frames. Maybe you have a different name for that particular tool over there?

Unfortunately I can't resurrect Jimmy, but this is the second time I've seen him mentioned today on this forum.

Now the door has a handle and lock on it so I can close it...even though the frame is not quite right.

Now I'm doubly proud of myself. I thought the handle and lock might have been a bit tricky, but it's really quite straight forward.
