Tried it this morning. I'm about 45 years too old for it.

I think this line's mostly filler.

YMMV, but I suspect if you continue, you'll be surprised. It gets quite dark. It has plenty of muppety moments scattered throughout, and some very muppety voices (Simon Pegg duplicates the original Chamberlain voice quite well), but once it sets the cutesy fantasy scenes in the beginning, everything starts to go wrong.

But if you don't have any nostalgia for Henson and the original Dark Crystal, maybe it's too hard to get past the muppetiness.

I also enjoyed Carnival Row, but there was something about the plot where, even though it did resolve the overarching season plotline, it felt like it was just the beginning. Or a sort of tour through an amazing feat in worldbuilding*. Luckily, it has been renewed already, so maybe it will get a chance to be a bit more plot-forward.

* ETA: The worldbuilding is so extensive I had to double check that it isn't based on a long series of novels.

Started Sherlock this a.m. on NetFlix.

Watched, and recommend, Retribution.

Also watching Mad Men. Meh, but I keep looking at it, for some reason.

Wrong thread, but I'm watching Justified on dvd. Starting the last season tonight.

The Mandalorian is quite good. Great visuals, serviceable plot so far.

Can't wait for the new season of the Expanse.

I'm not sure if I can go to Disney. We need a decentralized space opera.

I'm 44 minutes into Twin Peaks, and...

God damn this is awful.

It's like I'm watching a really, really bad B-movie (maybe an H-movie, it's that bad) from the eighties. On beta-tape.

Ima stay with it for a while longer, but, this is punishing.

That really was a good series. Star Wars for adults, basically.

I have flushed better shows down the toilet after taking a dump. Twin Peaks is just terrible. It's terribly made. It's terribly written. The acting is terrible. The cinematography is terrible. The continuity is terrible.

It's like a tv show on a tv show or movie, if you know what I mean. It's like a poor caricature of really bad tv.

Escape to the Chateau

I thought I'd hate it but I don't. The couple are so likeable

Another vote for Escape to the Chateau.

Dick Strawbridge seems to be able to tackle pretty much any problem that requires a practical approach or an engineering background.

It was quite an education (for me) when he restored the sunken greenhouse in the walled garden.

However, all that French food does seem to be taking its toll on his girth!
