Dec 7th, 2016: Live In Infamy

Quote:
Yesterday, December 7, 1941—a date which will live in infamy—the United States of America was suddenly and
deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.
You've seen pictures, newsreels, movies, and TV shows, for most of you, your whole lives. You know the story well, the
coordinated attack on Hawaii, Malaya, Hong Kong, Guam, the Philippines, and Wake & Midway Islands, was a surprise.
The war was not.

The war in Europe had been raging since 9-1-1939 and the US was building up it's military and industrial capability.
Charles Lindbergh and his isolationist followers put considerable pressure on the government to stay out of it.
But north and South America were making alliances and plans.

Although we were not officially at war with Germany until after Pearl Harbor, there were battles with U-Boats and our ships.
The Nazis were unhappy with the support we were giving England and Russia.

That was the secret to waging, and winning, wars in Europe and the Pacific simultaneously. Our resources and
Rosie the riveters produced the planes, guns, and food in quantities never seen before. I've heard Europeans bitch
the US waited until the Nazis were beat up then waltzed in and took credit for the victory. They seem to forget we
supplied the wherewithal to prevent them from speaking German today.

Don't worry, Trump will make America great again.
