No doubt videos of this type would not appeal to the cognoscenti, but I think they are wonderful! This one was made by Classic FM to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Zadok the Priest was the first piece played on the station. Just a string quartet would liven up my visit to Tesco at 7.30am! Go on, watch. It's only 3.26.

Bravo, bravo...
We've had several of these musical flash mob videos, and they were all great. One was the Philly Opera Company at the Italian Market. Another was a whole orchestra appearing in the town square after a little girl dropped a coin in a street musicians cup. Another was in a train or bus station with singing and dancing. I love them all.

Yes, yes, the Banco Sabadell, that was fantastic! As I remember they recorded that with only three microphones. The making of that video being a very professional job, mainly by not spoiling the premise with tons of equipment. It doesn't hurt that they picked something most of the crowd could sing along.
La Rondine, the reactions of all the shoppers seems to be, I don't know what's going on but I better grin like an idiot until I find out. And it's infectious. William Tell, exuberance is also infectious. They certainly have a disproportionate number of strings in that room, perfect for Tell, and flight of the Bumblebee.  Well done Carruthers.

Glad you liked it. I was inspired by your 10cc thread.
I remember listening to this sort of music with my AM radio. There was something unusual and it was full of artistic expression. I'm not sure we get alot of that anymore these days. BigBadJohn would be another song I remember on my AM radio. But it scared me. and that song about ringo somebody. and Angie Baby. Creepy. But great on the AM |
