Don't forget the Stephen Crane novel, The Red Badgers of Courage.

Then there's that fabulous Cream song, "Badger", with the oh-so-distinctive bass line.

You may find that at the end of March, there's not a lot happening in Bar Harbor. Most of the shops don't open until Memorial Day weekend, although that may have changed a bit since we were there. Cadillac Mt. and the loop road through the park are well worth the look, especially Cadillac at sunset. (Check the weather before going up though, the road may get slippery that time of year). Given the choice, I'd pick BH in the off-season anytime. Too many people in the summer for me, they always seem to be right where I want to make a photograph ...
Enjoy!

Acadia National Park is on Mt. Desert island, as is the town of Bar Harbor. Basically, the whole island is the park, and BH is at the northeast corner of it. When you're there, you're there.

So close you could walk there.

But drive instead. It's a National Park for cars.
