@mijsnomis: Isn't it funny that jochser's banned thread was rolling along just fine?

I'm quite sure Joch wanted to banned, that it was inevitable that he be banned, and that he wanted to make a point about this forum by being banned. The point was that he didn't want any of us to get too comfortable in a forum that has censorship in place. Other than that, he was just being himself. We've had years to figure him out, and the people here could not be expected to have the time or take the interest to do that. You, I expect, they'll get used to.

This place was founded in 1990, and it has had plenty of time to figure out lots of different usertypes, including the ones who feel it's important to take a big steaming crap all over the board to make the point that there is censorship. They come along every six months or so. It's nothing new.

AND the ones who feel compelled to defend people who take a big steaming crap all over the board. Seen them too. Watched them leave, waved goodbye, continued to have a nice forum with people who care deeply about it.

If you take a big steaming crap all over the board, you will be IP banned. If you stay long enough to care about the place, you will HOPE this happens.

You should see the private messages I'm getting, begging me to do it before, thanking me for it after!

We've had years to figure out what a good forum is, and you and your little snotty attitude are clearly not taking the time or the interest in what we are.

And LJ, wrong approach this time buddy, you made this harder this time...

@barefoot serpent: Do you subscribe to Zappa's Church of American Secular Humanism (C.A.S.H.)?

My favorite part is how we keep getting lectured about how "misunderstood" some of the AGers are - as if we're a bunch of goofballs who just don't get how special some of them are.

I don't mind newcomers but I don't need a month to figure out what is obvious after five minutes. Let the bodies pile up in the hallway if that's what it takes. The AGers who really want to be here will stay and the ones who are in love with the smell of their own adolescent farts will eventually crap their pants and leave.

You must realize that statement could be interpreted as a snap-judgement based on limited data, compounded by the lack of a sense of humor, right?

It takes years to get to know someone, even in real life. On the internet all we have are these attempts at communication via text, which is not much to go on. Too many other factors invloved.

flint's M.O.:

You're walking along the side walk. Flint waves to you as you walk by. As you pass him, he takes out a short 2X4 and swats you on the back of the head. You turn to confront him, and he hides it behind his back. You say, "Whay did you do that? Why would you hit me with a 2X4?"

then he says, "I didn't. I was just reminding you what it feels like to be hit with a 2X4"
