I wonder if it's significant that it is facing away from the wind? That picture was taken on the mainland just 15 miles or so from Limey. I don't think it's so bad here.

I think when it stopped working it probably got turned around.
There are a couple in DE that face away from the wind when operational.

I suspect it is very significant that it is facing the wrong way. Either it's swivel jammed, causing the wind to spin the turbines backwards, or that is what the humans make it do when the fan malfunctions.

But ... damn, look at those greenhouse gas emissions, just LOOK AT THEM!

Good spot, Pete, good call Rhianne. It was windy here yesterday. We had no electricity from 13.40 to about 21.30. We had a lovely twinkly evening in candlelight and firelight, dinner cooked on the calor camping stove which is seamlessly integrated into my kitchen for just such occasions, lovely Christmas music from the Pod-and-battery-powered-speakers low-fi.
All is calm today, all is bright ....

The footpath immediately around this stone retaining wall at the corner of Smith and Stuart Sts in central Dunedin was closed off yesterday after the wall began to bulge.

Dunedin City Council roading maintenance engineer Peter Standring said the council had been notified yesterday, but had no safety concerns about the situation.

It appeared the owner had taken all the correct precautions in having the area around the wall fenced off, he said.

Chief building control officer Neil McLeod said he had met the wall's owner, who had already contacted a structural engineer to inspect it.

It was not immediately clear what had caused the bulge, but he was satisfied the owner was being conscientious and everything that needed to be done had been, Mr McLeod said.

Exonerated of Murder, Texan Seeks Inquiry on Prosecutor
Quote:
AUSTIN, Tex. — A Texas man wrongfully convicted in 1987
of murdering his wife is scheduled to be officially exonerated on Monday.

For six years, the Williamson County district attorney, John Bradley,
fought the request for DNA testing, based on advice from Judge Anderson,
his predecessor and friend.

In 2010, however, a Texas court ordered the DNA testing,
and the results showed that Mrs. Morton’s blood on the bandanna
was mixed with the DNA of another man: Mark A. Norwood,
a felon with a long criminal history who lived about 12 miles
from the Mortons at the time of the murder.

By then, Mr. Morton had spent nearly 25 years in prison.

What is unprecedented is the move planned by lawyers for the man, Michael Morton:
they are expected to file a request for a special hearing to determine whether
the prosecutor broke state laws or ethics rules by withholding evidence

that could have led to Mr. Morton’s acquittal 25 years ago.
Maybe Morton will get Bradley and Anderson disbarred
for conspiracy to commit unlawful imprisonment !
Yeah...I know, that's not gonna happen...

.

This exemplifies the problems with our legal system. Instead of an actual search for the truth, they are simply trying to win.
