Of a certain age...

Twofer this weekend. We were playing paintball for my nephew's birthday yesterday, when at about 4 minutes in my overweight BiL broke his damn leg. Spiral fracture of the tibia. (?) Also got word that one of my cycling buddies has colon cancer surgery this week. fuck cancer

Still we stay active. I mountain biked in a down pour for about two hours this morning. I had a road ride and two nights of fencing during the week. I saw a grey beard peloton on my way home this morning and a couple bald runners. My generation has a lot of resist gravity advocates but we've got to accept the dirt on the body reality.

Peloton, huh? Was it just the one, or was it a field/bunch/pack of greybeards?

P.S. Stop making me learn stuff. Especially on a Sunday morning afternoon after a Saturday night!

Also, fuck cancer.

I believe I saw 3 actual grey beards, 3 oldsters sans beard, and one older woman in the pack. By old I'm saying around my age, 48.

Damn Griff. That shit is going around...
I've remained very close with my 5 best friends from grade school. We still get together every year to play poker.
In the last two weeks 3, yes three of their fathers have passed.
This sucks and FUCK CANCER.

OUCH! A spiral fracture!

and colon cancer? wow. I have a fear of alligators/crocodiles and any cancer that involves any part of my digestive system. Good luck to your friend, Griff.

Geez - there's enough misery to go around, huh?
