I love the A-10.

I wonder how expensive it would be to restart production to make new ones? I bet they would be $2 Billion each.

Those look to be well executed; however, they wouldn't make my top 100 list for aesthetics. But then I started going to The Knifemakers' Guild shows back in the early '80s and have seen thousands of custom knives. I have one by Guild member Loyd McConnell of Cactus Custom Knives that I bought from him at a Guild show in Dallas, TX in the mid '80s. It's a basic fixed 4" drop point blade, all blued (polished and brushed areas) A2 tool steel including the sculptured bolster and full tapered and shaped tang with genuine ivory stocks. I liked the cold blue steel.

For Christmas I can has knife. It's just under 5" closed and it's been rode hard and put up wet, but I like it.

George Schrade was born in Williamsport, PA, 02-13-1860. In the 1880s he patented a drill gauge, player piano, dime bank, saws on centers, weaver scissors, the shielding machine, cutlery machines, and the switchblade knife. Started the Press Button Knife Company in 1893.
Designed knives for Walden Knife, then with two brothers started Schrade Cutlery in 1904, and designed a four blade switchblade in 1906.
Sold his knife making machinery designs in England, then four years in Solingen, Germany where he invented a better switchblade, but the government seized everything, so came home 1916.
Invented the Flylock, worked for Challenge Cutlery, and in 1929 started George Schrade Knife Company of Bridgeport, CT, using the Presto logo.
Invented the Pull Ball and Wire Jack knives.
He died around 1940 which was about the time this knife was made. It sold for 10 cents when a good pocket knife sold for 50 to 70 cents.

Interesting comment at youtube.

Don't know where you get that def, Bob, it's not accurate to any pilot. A flare, as I do now in 767s, (at least usually) is rotating nose-up, decreasing rate of descent to cushion landing. When we trap on the boat, we don't flare one RCH. Fly meatball, lineup, AOA on a straight line to impact. Even think of flaring, and you miss the wires, go around, and get a "bolter" grade (2.5).
I never realized on carrier landings they straight in, I thought they would flare before the ship then level out to land. Maybe they did with prop planes.
