The proud parent thread

post all your bragging in here!

I'll start with my oldest boy (middle child) just getting his first 1st place in swimming at the first meet of the season this morning. 25 freestyle. he won by loads, and it was the one race I didn't get to see because (a) I was sorting out a mix-up at the blocks and (b) he was so damn fast He also got a 4th in backstroke. Hebe (oldest) got a 3rd and a 2nd. Pretty rocking

I just walked into the living room, and my daughter (9 months) was air-drumming to a Glass Hammer DVD.

She is gonna be scarey good. You've just found the excuse you need to buy every percussion dodad you ever fancied.

Got a call from fencing camp last night. Lil' Pete shredded some boy who knocked her out of a tourney last summer.

Championnship week.

So far, my boys got 17th and 33rd in diving (out of 47)

Hebe got in the points (top 16) with her medley relay team and she took 5th in the butterfly and 11th in the breaststroke. She has another year in this age group.

Hector got a 5th with his medley relay team, 9th in the butterfly, 14th in the 50 free and 15th in the 25free. Points all the way.

Thor was not last in any of his events, did not get lost at all, always had his goggles, and came home with two heat winner ribbons! He has another 3 years in this age group

Hebe dives tomorrow.

My kids rock

A twofer

Eldest daughter finished her freshman year of HS #1 in her class (of 967)

Youngest daughter graduated eighth grade and was valedictorian of her class. Maybe even more impressive is that she gave the valedictorian speech to about 600 people - and nailed it.

My oldest, daughter, graduated High school, cashed in on a few scholarships, was on the distingusished honor roll her entire HS career and is going to Neumann where she received several more academic scholorships - totalling about $28,000 a year. Middle son did very well on the golf team and made his first honor roll in 10th grade. Youngest son - a perennial D/F student while living with his mother came to live with me in March and made honor roll with all A's and one B (in freakin Gym - apparently he didn't wear the right color shorts) Oh well, I am very proud of all my kids and their accomplishments.
