From Reuters:
<blockquote>
Anne Schlachter, a 20-year-old student, bites into a grasshopper at the Berlin restaurant 'Soda' March 11, 2002. The eastern Berlin restaurant has begun to offer various insects such as grasshoppers, worms and crickets on its menu under the seasonal motto 'The big crawl begins'. A grasshopper meal called 'The Flying Dutchman' is served on curry rice and vegetables at the price of $7.35.

Are these bugs super hard and crunchy? This doll looks like she could use some dental work.

The bad guy (Scott Glenn) in Urban Cowboy, out of a bottle of Mescal. I've done it once myself.

Wes: "They say if you eat the worm you'll see visions. I've eaten a bunch of 'em but I ain't never seen no visions! But I sure did feel good!"

I once involuntarily ate red ants.

My brother had picked up a 10-pack of TacoBell tacos... ate 8 of them... left them on the counter for about an hour, then refrigerated them.

The next morning, I nuked and ate the tacos... all the while thinking just how bad they tasted. I ate them anyway -- mostly.

I happened to take a look at the bitten-off end of the second taco just before chomping down... and discovered that several DOZEN ants were in there... and had eaten the meat!

I'll never eat ANYTHING my brother has had on his counter again.

Incidentally they taste a little like some sort of gasoline-based chemical thingy. Not at all like tacos. Even Taco Bell tacos.
