The flag gently (work with me here) waving in the summer breeze...

Can't ya just picture yourself relaxing on the edge of the Canyon with you feet looking out over that great expanse. ...

or holding hands with your loved one walking over the nice bridge....

Comments? I'll comment.

It's not fair, it's not bloody fair, how the hell am i supposed to compete with the Grand Bloody Canyon, eh? We don't have one of those around here. I bet it wasn't even peaceful, I bet there were countless tourists chatting and shouting at their kids, jumbo jets overhead, sightseers buzzing about in helicopters and he's probably resting, propped up with his back against a McDonalds!

*sigh* Yes, I voted for number four too...

*storms out of thread in a huff*

How peaceful could it be, legs danging over the edge, a sudden strong wind could kill you.

I voted for mine, but I complimented yours in the original thread, back before I dangled my legs over the edge of the canyon.

It was actually very peaceful. Very still. Around 6:30 AM or so, just a couple of folks sitting on the large balcony of the lodge, quietly drinking their coffee. Nobody sitting near me.

The noise came later in the day as the world woke up.

I agree UT. When I was there, anytime I looked over the edge, I got an adrenaline rush - it felt like a jolt of electricity went through every cell in my body.

Plus, the view is really just to magnificent.

Have I been missing a trick? Does anyone else vote for their own pictures?

I vote for my favorite picture. Sometimes it's mine, sometimes it's somebody else's.

I vote for what I like. Sometimes I know what and why that is, sometimes I don't.

ETA: Yes, I've voted for my own pix.

So far, and admittedly that's only been for a month or two, I've always voted for someone else's and without looking at the 'current score'. I honestly don't mind folk voting for their own at all and don't think it's unfair or anything but for me it just doesn't feel right. I like the competition and love taking part and I'd like to thank whoever's idea it was to run it here.
