puter problem

hey y'all, been a while, but go home to mama when you can't figure it out. here's the deal. in a nutshell i now telecommute for work but have a laptop that is secondarily locked out. here is what i posted on fb:

"anyone know how to bypass microsoft's secondary login after a computer has been sitting dormant for a bit? i have the last employees password but when i log into the laptop it's asking for the last password used? comments?"

i think it's *gasp* windows 8

IIRC, the final step in the procedure for resetting the password is to log in one last time with the old password after which the new password takes effect. If you try to log in with the new password right away, it asks for the last password used. Perhaps the last employee tried resetting the password; but, didn't log in that one last time with the old password before turning the laptop over to you. I'm guessing here.

No problem. Get a hammer, a nice 16oz framing hammer should do fine.
Take the hammer and beat the living shit out of that POS computer. Enjoy!
Go buy a new one & log in.
Drink some beer and kiss your fiance'
Problem solved - you're welcome.

I can heartily recommend Classic's advice, as it works wonders on all kinds of electronics.

The 'puter won't work for shit, but, you'll feel great!

BTW: It's shit like Philthy's op that make me call them 'personal confusers'.[/LeoLaPorte]
