Ahh yes, tomato soup and grilled cheese...what mom gave me when I was feeling a bit better.

In the throes of the flu, though, it was tea and toast.

Hangover: pasta, and all the carbs I can get my hands on.

I went with some Banquet meals. Not very healthy, but it was the only thing I wanted.

I am a huge fan of crackers and mint ginger ale. Mmmm. Too bad I don't have any, so it's just regular ginger ale.

I once got carded at the grocery store for buying ginger ale. I hadn't turned 21 yet, but I seemed so determined to buy this ginger ale the cashier finally decided to "let it slide." Poor gal. Finally, we realized she thought it was alcoholic and explained that it was just soda.

HA HA! That's funny. Doesn't it say on the bottle that it is soda?

I was coming back to add that won-ton soup has also been used when sick as well as mom's orzo soup and toast cut into triangles. As mom is 8 hours away, I might make the man person pick me up some won-ton and he can have left over baked chicken and cous cous

Ditto the chicken noodle or tomato soup, for a cold. Good old mac & cheese from a box is good too. And ice cream - that's good ANYTIME. Ice cream is my absolute favorite food ever.

Ginger ale for tummy troubles. Got to be Canada Dry, I can't stand that other stuff.

I once had to buy a bottle of "wine" for a stage prop, and I got some of that Marzetti's sparkling cider stuff (which is actually really good...) At our local grocery stores, the computer automatically prompts you to enter a birthdate when you scan something alcoholic, and the cashier was freaking out because she couldn't get the prompt to come up and she was just certain it was supposed to, even after I showed her where it said "non-alcoholic" on the bottle.

dry toast, crackers, or milquetoast; tea, sprite, "flat" soda

at least, that's what I always got. yummy.

When I have a cold or respiratory illness, I usually crave garlic. Depending on the state of my throat Skittles and ice cream. If my stomach's upset, nothing, popsicles, active yogurt, liquids.

I have strange friends.
Cold-cures I have seen people eat include:
A whole tray of tiny hot chillies - raw.
A whole lemon. I mean the whole damn thing, peel and seeds and flesh.
Butterscotch Schnapps (ok that I understand).
spoonfuls of 2 parts honey 1 part wasabi (wait that was me).

[changes sig line]

For posterity, the line had been "Peeping sheepishly in through the doorway"
