Middle Names

Ok, this is interesting, in a cause and effect kind of way.

Quote:
(4) Before anyone asks me, I will answer: No, I have no idea whether the number of middle-named Wayne murderers is statistically significant. I suspect that aggressive-personality fathers during the 1950s and 1960s did in fact hopefully and disproportionately name their boys after that era's icon of ruggedness, John Wayne. Beyond that, I dare not venture.
Actually, part of the reason is that the middle name Wayne is very popular in Texas and Texas is the serial killer capital of the world. 1/5 to 1/4 of that is list is Texans.

I've noticed that serial killers all wear (wore?) those silver aviator glasses - not the sunglasses kind but the "i have to have these to see" kind.

all the same kind of frames.

That's why I avoid men with those frames and who look very timid, mouse-y and like they could melt into a crowd. I like to go out with guys who look like they'd kill you. Then everyone remembers them.

There you go - my first bf wore them, and he became a scary controller who stalked me for A YEAR after I dumped him. It was terrifying. There were no anti-stalking laws then.

So ... I'll back your theory, Bri. Your practical strategy? Ummmm ....

Remarkable correlation.

It shouldn't be too hard (although, I'm not going to bother) to

(a) get a list of all convicted murderers

(b) analyse for frequency of the name Wayne (esp as middle name)

(c) Use the census to determine the frequency of Wayne in the general population

(d) and compare.

In the meantime, I'll be steering well clear of any Waynes.

I only knew one Wayne and he spent most of his time drawing cars, which he gave to me. I think he was courting me...this was in the 5th grade

I met a man called Wayne once who had a wonderful singing voice.
However he was a sadistic dentist at the time so I didn't follow it up.

No, really.
He was playing Orin Scrivello (DDS) in a local version of Little Shop of Horrors.
