He's talking about the website's address at the top of your browser. Which of the following does it say?

http://www.cellar.org
https://www.cellar.org
http://cellar.org

I've closed down my PC for the day (posting on iPad where the problem doesn't occur) so I'll have a look first thing tomorrow.

I use Firefox so it might be worth trying another browser and seeing how things go there.

Many thanks for the nudge in the right direction.

A new day has dawned and I've had time to look at what's what.

In summary it appears to be a Firefox problem.

(i) I've changed my default browser to Edge which has allowed me to upload an image to the Ships thread.

(ii) Re links in Email problem.

Up until a couple of weeks ago, links in notification Emails always opened up the page with the correct colour scheme and no necessity to sign in, even if I didn't already have the Cellar open in my browser. (I don't sign out).

Clicking on one of these links (example below) in Edge opens up the page in the same manner as Firefox once did.

http://cellar.org/showthread.php?t=4657&goto=newpost

I'm not that keen on Edge but, if it reduces the hassle factor, I'll stay with it.

Thanks everyone for help and suggestions.

Lools to me like the emails are giving you bad links (not bad, per se, but basically the whole internet switched a while back to using exclusively https because it's more secure) and some browsers are automatically fixing them once you're here and click on something new?

Probably never got noticed because you're the only person who gets here via email link instead of navigating to your drug fix directly like the rest of us.

Not strictly true, Clod!

I do like to keep a number of threads 'under observation' as it were, so the notification Emails are very handy.

However, I am more often found foraging around the board in general.

Once again, thanks for your help and observations.

Try Chrome rather than Edge.

Google can be made the default search engine on Edge too. That's what I did and I use Edge all the time without problems.

Forgive me for going over already well trodden ground, but the problem of uploading images persists.

Last night I used Firefox and Chrome without success so this morning I've tried Edge and IE, also with conspicuous lack of success.

The whole thing is rather bizarre. I'm no IT professional, but generally I manage to navigate my way around problems without leaving too much havoc in my wake.

Advice and suggestions (preferably not rude) will be gratefully received.

I don't think it's me. However I shall be suitably contrite if it is!
