We were Hoping for Lung Cancer ...

Crazynurse's daughter, gothychick, had surgery today. I juggled some things around and surprised her husband by coming to the hospital to sit with him. She's. Doing well, still waiting for her to be brought up to ICU. The final word wont be in until the pathology comes back, but it looks likely to be melanoma in the lung. She was treated for Stage IV melanoma three years ago.

Fuck cancer.

As odd as it is to say "we were hoping for lung cancer, a primary lung cancer has a much better prognosis. The surgeon was guardedly optimistic, but he was pretty sure about what the pathology will show.

She was very happy to see me. She actually looked pretty good for having 1/3 of her lung removed.

So far she has enough of her own parts remaining that that isn't necessary.

3 friends fathers ... add to that a neighbor whose heart burst. He was 53. Left behind 3 kids no life insurance and underwater mortgage and an ex who is determined to sue somebody, anybody for anything and everything with nothing. The youngest has aspergers. I've known the family for years. Youngest has been one of my boy's only friends since the accident. He'll now be forced to move away. Thats his last friend within walking distance.
FUCK CANCER.
